Heritage Building Repairs
Specialist heritage building repairs combining traditional craftsmanship, conservation compliance, and sensitive restoration expertise.
EnquireListed Buildings & Conservation Areas
Structured Designs have undertaken several notable repairs to Heritage Buildings over the last 30 years. This work includes Grade II Listed Buildings and property in Conservation Areas. Projects include everything from walls and subsidence to water damage and fire, and occasionally, substantial renovations and conversions.
Work on Heritage Buildings requires specialist knowledge of traditional building techniques and materials. Often, it will be a legal requirement to obtain approval for the intended work from a local Council Conservation Department. Conservation approval requires an application and is usually a lengthy, detailed, and costly process that delays work for a considerable period. If required, we can act on your behalf, discuss the intended work with conservation officers, and submit the necessary applications.
Structured Designs' heritage work has received considerable praise over the years, including the high-profile renovation of Llwynegrin Hall, the main council-owned Registry Office for Flintshire, back in 2005. We are proud that our work, after 20+ years, is still in fine order. The value of work on this Grade II Listed building (adjusted to 2025 costs) is around £1M; however, this high value is not typical, and our heritage projects range from £25K upwards.
